Can you deploy with a hernia?

i have a large hiatal hernia and i just got told i have it and i was wondering if i could deply with it

  1. I doubt they would allow that in case something were to happen in a remote area where there is no timely access to medical care. Plus your lifting would be restricted.

  3. Depends on what you're trying to deploy, doesn't it, and how far you have to bend over to get it to deploy.

    While leaving for my third tour, we had someone leave with us who was on crutches. Hernias will heal, but you'll probably be on quarters for a week or two after they do your surgery...

  5. If you are in the military, have it fixed if possible.No matter where you deploy to, you never know where you will end up.
