Can you marinate tofu in alcohol?

I want to substitute tofu for shrimp in a recipe for tequila lime shrimp. Does anyone know if you can marinate tofu in alcohol? I'm worried that the tequila might react badly with the tofu for some reason. Please help me with any thought you have!!

Sure, using cooking wine or similar with tofu is fairly common. Tofu is already curdled soymilk, so it shouldn't react with things. It does absorb liquids, so it should be suitable for your recipe. You may want to press out the water from the tofu first.

You can marinate tofu in alcohol no problem! I've never personally had a bad reaction. I marinate tofu in everything, it's so versatile.
