  1. Okay. Number one, you live in England.

Number two, yes the house exists, and yes the whole thing was a hoax. George Lutz, from whom the story stemmed, admitted to fabricating the whole affair.

I would like to pose a question to you. Being from England, birthplace of our fair language, why does your grammar suck?

  2. Yes, I have visited this house. The people who live there are very private, and don't like being bothered, on account of lots of people driving by and taking pictures of the house every day.

Its not really haunted, the movie is mostly fictitious. There was an incident where someone was killed there, but not someone trying to kill his whole family like in the movie.

The boathouse is still there in the back, but the signature half-round windows in the front are now regular rectangular windows. Also, the new movie makes it look a lot bigger than it actually is.

I will say, it was a creepy house, ghosts or not. Maybe because of seeing the movies.

For the record the address is now 118 ocean avenue

  3. Located on a side street in Amityville, this house may hold some very dark secrets. Is it haunted? How were the DeFeo's killed? Exploring the history of this house through various sources, including a first hand acount, brings out only more questions.

This is probably the most infamous property on Long Island. For those of you who may be unfamiliar with the details, you may find this interesting. Some of these details make absolutely no sense at all.

As far as we know the first people to have been notified of the DeFeo killings were the drunken masses at a local bar when Ronnie Defeo came running in. If you look hard enough you can even find the 911 transcript online. Supposedly when the locals arrived at his house they found the entire family one by one in their beds lying on their stomachs. This in itself is odd because Ronnie DeFeo Jr. supposedly used a .35 Marlin Rifle which is a very loud gun. The fact that no one in the same house heard the shots or if they did, neglected to move from their beds, is odd. What makes things even odder is that the mother was shot in the chest while his father was shot in the back. You cannot shoot someone in the chest if they are laying on their stomachs, you would logically have to go through the back first. This could mean that the family, or at least some of them, were moved into position on their stomachs after the shooting. Why do police records not indicate any evidence of dragging? According to what I have read, it looks as if every one of them was sleeping peacefully throughout the whole event. Did someone or even something tell the other family members to stay down? Also did something muffle the sound of the gunshots? As I said this is a loud gun. Why did no one on the street hear anything? If they were able to report hearing a dog barking, how did they miss the rest of the racket.

  6. Yes it exists but it was all a big hoax apart from the first murders

It was all writen as a true story but was in fact fiction

'The Real Amityville Horror,A True Story' Which was a total piece of fiction just like the Devince Code was

  7. The house does exist but the hauntings are not true.

  8. Hi

Sorry mate, call me selfish but I've just reached level three and posted a question to tell everyone and now I need four points to get back on level three because the question dropped me back to level two, best of luck with your enquiries.

    Ray. West York's. U.K.

  9. The Amityville Horror has turned from a real suburban American tragedy into a horrific myth. It has become the source of bestselling novels and the subject of several movies.

These are some of the facts as they are known

*While the priest was blessing the house as the family move in, a strange masculine voice clearly said to him "Get out!" As he drove back to the rectory, the hood of the priest’s car flew open, smashing against his windshield. One of the welded hinges tore loose. The right door flew open. The car stalled. The priest summoned a friend for help and later the friend called the priest and said, "Do you know what happened to me after I dropped you off? The windshield wipers, they began to fly back and forth like crazy! I couldn’t stop! I never turn them on! What the h**l is going on?"

*In the house windows flew up and down and doors were repeatedly ripped off their hinges in the house even though they were securely locked

*In the  winter, hundreds of buzzing flies materialized in one of the upstairs rooms of the house.

*A 12-inch crucifix hung in a closet by Mrs. Lutz revolved until it was upside down and gave off a sour smell.

       *  Lutz discovered a small secret room in the basement, a room that appeared in no blueprints of the house. It was painted solid red - and had the smell of blood. In one of the red walls, Lutz saw a vision of a face - a face that he would later find from newspaper photographs was that of Ronald DeFeo.

*Green gelatinous slime began to ooze from the ceiling and from door openings.

*Mrs. Lutz levitated a foot above her bed on several occasions and floated toward an open window. On one of the occasions, when her husband pulled her back, her 30-year-old face had been transformed into the face of a 90-year-old woman - "the hair wild, a shocking white, the face a mass of wrinkles and ugly lines and saliva dripping from the toothless mouth."

  10. well i believe in Santa

  11. Here's the truth I've actually been there.I drove by years ago with some friends. We saw nothing spooky at all. What a waste of time. The people who lived there then saw nothing. The Lutzs were exposed years ago.Jay Anson admits it was a hoax.Ron Defeo is still in jail, even he knows it's nonsense. In NY every once in a while there's an interview on TV.He's not what you'd imagine.Someone advised you to go there, don't.The neighborhood is tired of looky-loos.They want to be left alone.Unless someone else lives there now.And they're exploiting the house, that's the truth.I did like the 1st and last movies though.

  12. go to this site, about the warrens that went their to investigate, its 12 ocean ave..go to their web site and look under investigations, and straight from the horses mouth

  13. Yes,it exists!Probably still haunted,you should go visit it!

  14. Hi, Don't listen to the nay-sayers. I know the truth. Yes. The house exists. And what happened to the Lutzes was was real.

NOT a hoax. Jay Anson NEVER said it was a hoax. The Lutzes have never come forward to say they made it up. These rumors keep floating around only because people do not want to believe the TRUTH.

It is not haunted. It is infested. There is a difference. A haunting indicates ghosts. An infestation indicates the demonic.

People here have heard a lot of rumors. But I actually know the Lutzes. George Lutz was my dear friend until he passed away last year.

The two documentaries done by History's Mysteries are pretty well balanced. You might look to see if you can find copies at your local library. The recent movie remake was a farce that had absolutely nothing to do with true events.

To all of you who said you've gone there, or those who wish to go there - DON'T. It is an invasion of privacy. You have no right. What is there is not completely dormant. It is always looking for someone else to mess with. I know too many people who have been hurt by going there.

Currently, what resides there is for the most part dormant. But as I said, not entirely.

Feel free to drop me a note if you'd like more info.

  15. While the house is real; there isn't much else there that  is. The writer,  Jay Anson, has admitted before that he had been trying to write a best seller. Facts were secondary to the money.

Sorry to hear about the rains over there; I wish you guys the best.

  16. The house actually has a grid under it.

  17. the amettyville house is real. there was a murder there a long time ago. it is haunted and people here voices that say get out.

  18. It does exist. The murders did happen in Nov. 13, 1974. Horrendous tragedy. I dont doubt that its haunted. As for the Luzt's story, we can only take their word on it. As for the movie, they had to of fix up the effects to be scary for the box office.

  19. Yes it does exist, although the city of Amityville changed the address to discourage sight-seers.  Was it really haunted?  Well, like all things supernatural, that is a matter of personal belief.  The house has been occupied after the Lutz's moved out, and there have been no reports of further ghostly activity to my knowledge.

  20. haunted house exists.the reason was the past history of the people who live/reside in that house.surely horrible and demonic.what is the best thing to do is completely demolished thehouse and find new one.the negative energies in the haunted house is existing too long and no remedies were done to stop the restless beings.once the haunted place is demolished, what will remain is just the memories and not the actual place where restless ghost keeps on doing something scary or bad.
