  1. You can get a full refund if you paid for the insurance on it. You will be penalized or you might receive a full refund if you didn't. Just check the policy.

  2. Yes, depending how & who you booked it threw. If you have a brochure there is a breakdown on canceling your cruise. Depending on when you booked & when you cancel there is a % of the cost that the cruise line keeps. Call who ever you booked it threw and get the acturate details so you know exactly what is what.

    Good Luck.

  3. Yes you can get a refund but the amount depends on  (1) how close you are to the sail date, and (2) whether you have trip/travel insurance for your cruise.

Every cruise line has a schedule for granting refunds and generally you can get a full refund if you cancel between 60 and 75 days before the cruise, depending upon the length and cruise line.  So if your cruise is, for example,  90 days away you can get a full refund.  If its 45 days away the refund schedule may refund all except your deposit.  If its just a week or a few days before the cruise then you may get about 25% back, again depending upon the cruise line.

Now if you have travel insurance, you can get a full refund any time if your travel insurance policy covers the incident which prompted you to cancel.

You can look at the cancel schedule for your cruise line right on its web site and that information will be in the "passenger cruise ticket" section of the web site.  Or just look in frequently asked questions and search on cancel cruise.

I once had to cancel a cruise just two days before the cruise due to death and although I didn't have travel insurance, the cruise line gave me a full refund.

  4. There are penalties for cancelling a cruise ticket. The amount you loose depends on how close to the sailing date you cancel. See cruise company website for details.

If you have a valid reason for cancelling your cruise, your travel insurance may cover the amount you lose.

I cancelled a cruise one week before sailing date and because the reason was the death of a close family member got a full refund from the travel insurance company.
