There are ten kids. Billy, Lilly, Yuri, Talia, Simon, Robert, Kim, Tom, Kelly, and Grace. Three of them have the same height. Billy is taller than Lilly, but Lilly is shorter than Yuri. Talia and Simon are both taller than Lilly, but are both shorter than Kim and Tom. Tom and Robert are the same height and are also taller than Talia and Simon. Kelly is shorter than Grace who is taller than Billy. Kelly is the same height as Tom and is shorter than Lilly. Yuri and Talia are shorter than Grace. In order from tallest to shortest, list the ten kids. (and the 3 with the same height, it doesn't matter which order they go in on the list.)

  1. OUCH! my head hurts

  2. Grace, Billy, Yuri, Kim, Robert, Tom, Kelly, Talia, Simon & Lilly ???

  3. To answer your question: no.

  4. i tried this but i don't think it could be solved because it says that Tom and Robert are the same height and they are both taller than Talia and Simon.  Talia and Simon are taller than Lilly. Then it says Kelly is the same height as Tom, which would make Robert, Tom, and Kelly all the same height.  The problem is that Kelly is shorter than Lilly, who is shorter than Talia and Simon. ( I hope that made a little sense. lol)

anyway this what i came up with:

Grace, Billy, Yuri, Kim, (Tom, Robert ?) Talia, Simon, Lilly, (Tom, Robert, Kelly?)

and the three are Tom, Kelly, and Robert.

    Good Luck!

  5. The problem contains a logical error.  First, label the clues:

    01)  Billy is taller than Lilly.

    02)  Lilly is shorter than Yuri.

    03)  Talia and Simon are both taller than Lilly.

    04)  Talia and Simon are both shorter than Kim and Tom.

    05)  Tom and Robert are the same height.

    06)  Tom & Robert are taller than Talia and Simon.

    07)  Kelly is shorter than Grace.

    08)  Grace is taller than Billy.

    09)  Kelly is the same height as Tom.

    10)  Kelly is shorter than Lilly.

    11)  Yuri and Talia are shorter than Grace.

If Talia is taller than Lilly (Clue #3) and Lilly is taller than Kelly&Tom (Clue #9 and #10) then Talia must be taller than Kelly/Tom.  So we have this:

    Talia > Lilly > Kelly/Tom

(Talia is taller than Lilly, who is taller than Tom.)

This contradicts Clue #4, which says Talia is SHORTER than Tom.
