Can you strip lighter dye?

Is it possible to strip light dye from a darker natural colour or can only darker dyes be stripped? the colour on my hair now is lighter than my natural colour and i HATE it, what can I do to get rid of it? Is there any way my hairdresser can get rid of it? x

  1. It isn't necessary to strip lighter dye. Your hairstylist should be able to cover the lighter hair with a nice demi-permanent color to match your natural color.  


  2. I am a hairstylist and the only way to really get rid of it is to dye it back to a color that is similar to your natural color. But your hairdresser should be able to find almost a perfect match!

  3. DONT strip it.

    when you go lighter the colour is stripped out of the hair!!!!! what you need to do is put the colour pigments back into the lightened hair!!!!!

    yes it is something that is easy to fix,, just dont use a stripper on it as it will strip your natural colour and not the blonde.

    you need to have an all over tint or semi to get rid of the blonde.......
