  1. I have been to niagra falls and yes you do have to convert! Have a great trip!

  2. Yes, you can use US dollars in Niagara Falls, Ontario, but if there is change, you may receive it in Canadian dollars. Also, you may not get a favourable exchange rate this way. To get the best exchange rate, either convert your US dollars to Canadian dollars at a bank (either on your way up or somewhere in Canada, but not near the Falls as you will get an unfavourable rate from them) or simply take out money from a Canadian ATM where you'll get the best rates (again, don't do this near the Falls as they usually charge exorbitant ATM fees upwards of $5).

See this link from the Niagara Falls Visitors Guide for more information: http://niagaravisitorsguide.com/2008/02/...

  3. You sure can.  No need to convert.  I was there Labor Day weekend last year and the ratio was almost one to one.  So our money is worth almost the same there as it is here.  Enjoy!  Btw, I had some of the best ice-cream ever in Niagara Falls.  I can't remember what the name of the  fresh.

  4. There is a good chanve they will take american dlls but there is a teenie tine difference in the value exchange ,.. last I saw the Canadian dll is = to the Amer dll but in the past the Amer $$ was worth more! You mite be able to use your debit card.

Maybe apy in advance ( an agreed fare at the taxi office )

You can rec $$ at an ATM machine if u are at the airport,.

  5. i think you will need to convert it

  6. They will take your American money most places in Canada, but you would be best served to exchange it at a bank beforehand, as most tourist trap businesses (and, yes, even cabs) are not going to give you the best exchange.  I live in a border city (Windsor, Ontario/Detroit, Michigan) and have experience with this and you do best by exchanging it at a bank.  Avoid also the roadside currency exchange places, as they charge you an exorbitant service fee.  You would do OK exchanging your money (American to Canadian) at the casino in Niagara Falls as well, as they are basically going to give you the bank rate.  (I know this as I work at the casino in Windsor and I know our American customers get a fair exchange rate...it will be the same in Niagara.)  Hope I helped.

  7. You should convert your money to Canadian dollars. Now that the American dollar is worth less, businesses are starting to give you a hard time about taking American money. I would doubt that the taxi would take American dollars. In Montreal now, they don't or they try to charge you a lot more if they will accept it. It is up to the discretion of the business, whether or not they will take US funds.

Convert some money at your bank before you go to be on the safe side :)

    Have a good trip!
