Canada vs. U.S. educational systems?

Has anyone ever experienced both systems? It seems that just about everyone who comes from a system other than the U.S. into it automatically has an advantage.

  1. Neither of the two above answered your question.

    Here's the main difference:

In the US the educational systems is local. Schools are controlled by local (town) school boards. If you live in a "great" area, you will have a great schools system, if you live in a "crappy" area you will have a crappy school system.

In Canada the education systems is controlled by the province.

In the US the school system is very varied depending on where you live, in Canada it's more homogeneous.

In the end there are much better schools in the US than in all of Canada, there are also much worse schools in the US than in all of Canada.

  2. OK Dilde had the worst answer ever.

I mean even americans themselves look at their politics and issues "no child left behind" admits that their education system is horrible.  Yes I have gone to university in america as well as in Canada.  I will admit the US have some fantastic programs  especially in the arts but I find that it is more difficult In canada.  I think that its just because canada has come to expect more because elementary and high school standards are higher in Canada.  I actually had an american prof who was aboslutely having a fit his first year up here because based on his exams the class average was in the 90's for a policy class.

And I am trying not to be super negative but really I mean look at what america says about its own education system I mean those in government.

    THE MAIN DIFFERENCE

Here is what I found was the main difference between the two that make me give Canada huge props.  In the united states people are told what to think.  They vote based on religion without knowing any issues, they listen to propoganda all the time I am a hard nosed conservative but to call countries like canada and Britain socialist just because they are more liberal is retarded they have better economies, healthcare, education, employment rates, wages, benefits, and a better public service.  So in learning in canada I found in classes its developing how to think, question, answer and really learn not just memorize.  SO when you graduate your are not only filled with knowledge but skills.

I hope that answers your question and I never once said US sucked I was just answering why I personally thought canadas education system was better based on my experiences.

  3. i don't have any experienced but from there u can think bout it. of course U.S educational system is the best. because they r succeed to produced a lot of brilliant employee nowadays..
