  1. I'm Canadian.  We have many cultures here so there is no one "Canadian" food, except maybe apple pie and butter tarts, Nanaimo bars and lobster from the east.    Meat pies and poutine from the French, cabbage rolls from the Ukranians, etc.. We eat everything from all cultures and are very lucky.

  2. Poutine is very Canadian and it's good. It is french fries deep fried. Then you pour melted cheese and gravy over them. Very yummy.

  3. Canadian bacon.  It's more like a ham than traditional bacon but it's good.  Maple sugar candy is good stuff too.

  4. Well not only am I from Canada, I was a professional chef for over 20+ years, favorite foods made in Canada is quite a wide open question, the first 2 people have mentioned 2 foods that most non-Canadian feel are staples and while we do indulge on occasion, they are not everyday foods, we eat a diet primarily like Americans and British people do, we have a very wide ranging ethnic population so Chinese, Indian, Italian, Indian, Caribbean and Greek foods are very popular, and we have recent immigrants like the Korean, Vietnamese, African countrys and others, that here in Toronto I can eat out for 1 year and never go to the same place and have access to all the great cuisines of the world.

And to correct the second person, Canadian bacon is known as that outside of Canada here it is known as Back Bacon.
