Cancel a win on ebay?

So i just won a ghd on ebay yesterday and i was buying it with birthday money. Well of course this morning i got a new ghd styler for a birthday present and don't need it anymore. Do you think the buyer will understand, can i cancel a win on ebay?

All you can do is ask the seller and see what he/she says..

A bid on an ebay item is a binding contract...i.e., once you bid, you are contractually bound to pay what you've bid for the item, should you win the auction.

That means that the answer is, no.  You cannot cancel a win on ebay.

You can contact the seller and explain to him/her what happened and see if s/he will allow you to get out of the transaction, but be aware....if the seller really wants to, s/he has every right to force you to purchase the item.  

My advice to you is to simply be polite to the seller and see what s/he says....
