Question:

Candle Question?

In my new bedroom I wanted to put candles at different levels on the wall. Kind of scattered low and high on this one wall. However, I don't know if there are any sort of single little shelves that I could somehow afix to the wall to put the candles on. I had the vision of just one candle per little shelf so the smaller the better. Just something to place them on. Do you know of anything?

  1. There are all kinds of things! Some are made for candles, others are little wall pedestal things, like for statues and stuff too...I would look for candle holders that are made for candles so it doesn't burn the wall. You can s***w or nail them into the wall. I've had them before and they had little mirrors behind them to reflect the light. I had one on each side of my bed. I bought them at a thrift store and they were an ugly brass so I painted them black and white to match my room. I would check thrift stores or flea markets. I have seen them. You might want to do a web search on it.

  3. I did woodworking after I retired and sold things I made in a crafters mall in a downtown store.  I made small individual shelve for just such a purpose.  I'm sure you can find a store like that where you live.  If you find one but there are no shelves like you want, ask about a woodworker that sell stuff there to see if he does special orders.  If you have a picture or can draw what you want it will be much easier.  I did that all the time. (I no longer do that work myself)

  5. This doesn't so much answer the question you're asking, but

you're gonna so love this tip:  If you are using votive candles, keep them in the freezer!  For real!  I do this and they actually burn at least 3 or 4 times longer.  I have no idea why, but it works.  Try it!!

I have tried it with tapers and larger candles - not so good. They just crack or break - but the votives, perfect!
