Ok so i just recently graduated from high school and like everyone i am hosting a party. Instead of having a million desserts i thought about having a candy buffet instead. My brother had one for his wedding and i absolutely loved the idea. I know they are used a lot for weddings but i was wondering if you guys would think it would be cool and different to do that for a grad party instead of a table of desserts? Also, my school colors were purple and gold and i need help coming up with candy that color. Ideas? I dont want it to be all chocolate or chewy candies i want a mixture. Ideas?? Well, I hope you could help and hope to hear from many of you. Thanks!!

  2. I think that's a fantastic idea!

You can do cream cheese mints -- in lots of flavors and colors-- in the shapes of grad hats and balloons. These can be either hand made or hired out.

Chocolates you can do the same as the mints with white chocolate (then dye it).

You can also make (or buy) lolly pops in the school colors and have them poked into styrofoam balls on top of a vase or bowl. To make bouquet looking displays, and add height to your buffet. Fill clear pitchers with jelly beans for folks to pour onto their plate/bowl to keep it clean.

Check for stores that sell bulk candy in your area, and see if you buy so many pounds if they'll give you a discount.

  3. That is a cool idea.  You can order M&Ms in all purple with a graduation theme printed on them and the date of your graduation.
