Cannon Powershot A410?

Question

My mom bought a digital camera at a garage sale and her not knowing anything about our kind of technology world, she didn't know that there should have been a USB cord with it and some software, she just bought the camera and the case it was in.

Where can I get the software, I already checked the site for it all they have are updates. Please help so my mom doesn't feel so bad, she was hoping on taking pictures at my daughter's grad tomorrow.

The camera is a Canon Power Shot A410, it works great with nice picture and all just need the software so we can get the pics onto comp. I already found a usb cord that fits it and my comp running on Windows XP already recognizes it. It asks me wich program i wanted to open it with but my program I have for my cam doesn,t recognize the camera.

Any help would be great, thanks in advance.

I understand what you're saying, the software available from the Canon website are "updates" and assunes that you already have the original version.  But you really don't need this software (Zoom Browser and PhotoStitch) to download your pictures.  In fact, recommend using an SD card reader instead of downloading pictures directly from the camera.  It's much much faster and reliable to use a card reader, and does not use up your camera's batteries.  AND they're VERY inexpensive these days (shouldn't cost you more than 5 bucks, shipping included).  Here's some from Amazon:

As for photo editing software, recommend getting the freeware Irfanview:

Go to Canon Website and e-mail them or call them. You need a cd software for that camera from Canon. The usb cord can probably be bought at Radio Shack or Best Buy and of course Canon.
