Canon XL1 still good to get?

I was wondering if the Canon XL1 is still good to get, even though it is kinda old.

its still perfectly fine.  Don't buy into the hype of HD.  Most cameras sold today are not true HD, but rather an HD codec which is definitely not the same thing.

An XL1 is fine and don't worry that it doesn't have 24p recording.  24p is only useful if you plan to print back to actual 35mm film which is very expensive.

As long as you light your shots well, SD footage should still serve you very well.  

28 days later was shot on the PAL version of the XL1 and then printed back to 35mm film after the uprez.

Its a fine camera with great glass.
