Canon or Kodak?

Question

I want to spend 200 dollars on a camera. I currently have a kodak camera and i am trying to sell it right now. if i sell it i want to know what camera takes better pictures and what camera is a better overall camera. I was looking at the new kodak m1033 camera. it has a 3 inch screen and smart capture. and the canon camera 1100is and it has a 2.5 inch screen but everyone i talk to says canons are better. but would i just be paying for the name of canon!

Definitely the Canon.  I've had a Powershot for over two years with no problems.  Too much trouble with the Kodaks.  From what I've read, Canon is the leader in point & shoots.

It's not just the name. It's the processer, and quality results you pay more for.

yes cannon is better . but it IS a bit pricey. some are even more than 200 dollars.

Canon is better, and no you would not only be paying for the name.  You would be paying more for a better quality camera.  I would definitely go with the Canon.  My sister bought the SD1100IS from http://www.digitaldealz.net, in pink nonetheless.  She really likes it!

Canon is a better lens maker than Kodak and since the lens determines the pictures quality, I'd stick with Canon.

Canon is the way to go. They have much better cameras--a little pricier, but totally worth it.

Canon, i know they are more expensive but its worth it.

Anyway i have kinda classed Kodak as a lower mid range brand and the canon as a high quality brand.

There are alot of things that make the canon better small things eg.High quality screen and easy menus and so on...

So if ya want my advice go for the canon...

My sister has a 5megapixel Kodak which still maintains fantastic quality, even while shaking it. My stepmom has a 6 megapixel Canon and everything she takes with it is blurry.

i once had a kodak camera and it worked alright but it broke and i switched to canon and i thought it was acutally a whole lot better.

Canon is the best camera brand, I guess in terms of quality of pictures and also pricing wise...Get SD870IS(3'' LCD screen and a very good camera. check the reviews. you will be amazed...and I also bought one from Amazon). It comes around $230. SD1100IS is also good but not as good as SD870IS and that comes for around $200.  its not like Kodak is not good but Canon is far better...
