Canon pixma mp210 printer -

Canon pixma mp210 printer - replaced ink cartridges with compatible ones - printer working fine except when printing both ink lamps come on solidly, not blinking, and status says there is no ink in cartridges. Have tried resetting and disconnecting USB and power for 5 minutes but these lights still come on when about to print. Can you help please?
