Capacitor like object with sound system?

Question

I recently got a used vehicle, and it has a decent sound system. It has a 600 Watt amp and next to the amp is a silver cylinder that is attached between my battery and the amp. It seems like some sort of capacitor but im not sure. Can anyone help me?

The capacitor is used to hold power when your system is not requiring a lot of base so when it does it gets the full amount of power it needs. This is usefull because the system does not get enough power a lot of the time to meet its demand because a lot of it is distributed to other parts of the car such as powering the stereo and head lights.

its a cap
