Car Insurance Temporary Additional Driver???

I already have a car insurance policy with Churchill.

I am doing a very long journey this weekend and want to Insure my boyfriend for 3 days to help me with the drive.

Is it possible to put someone on an existing policy for 3 days?? I take it there would be a cost involved.

Is he rated on any insurance policy right now?

If so then you should not have to add him as a driver since he is already rated on another policy.  

If he is NOT rated on another policy then I would advise contacting your insurance company directly and provide them with your boyfriend's information.  

It is hard to speak for another insurance company cause I cannot give you a 100% guarentee of what your insurance company will do.  

I would think that your insurance company might want to list him as a household driver, but NOT rate him on the car.... then you would have to call them when you come back to remove him as a household driver.  But to be honest with you the change probably won't even be processed in the computer systems until you get back.

Best bet is contact your insurance company directly because insurance does varry from state to state and company to company.
