Car hire in Crete?

Hi. I've just booked holidays in Crete. We are planning to rent a car but suppose most car rental companies are not open 24 hours... and we will be arriving in Heraklion at about 2 am. Does any one know if it's possible to get the car at that time at all? thanks

Yep u can get them on airport or u can rent them online anytime either before u come over here r some useful links ... good luck ..

Dunno the answer to your question, sorry but a word of warning! Their roads there are really bad compared to ours. One-way streets are not even marked sometimes and by the looks of it most vehicles wouldn't pass their MOT. The police are also on the lookout for tourists driving as they know we're not aware of their roads. They have a real habit of fining toutists for driving offences and not Greek nationals.

My friend and I hired a car in Crete - mind you it was a few years ago now, but it was great!  Just be aware you are in a different country and don't do anything stupid!!  You will be fine.  

I checked out one of the car hire companies from the airport and it had the option of picking up your car at 2am..so maybe check out some of the web sites.  Google 'car hire crete' it comes up with a bunch!!
