Car modle tips?

ok tommorrow im going to do a car modle and its the plastic ones that u have to cement. Ineed tips what to do and also this yellow peice of paper came out of the book any ideo what it is for? and also whats the best way to cut out the parts in the tree thing thanks :)

The BEST way to remove parts from the sprue (tree-thing), is to buy a set of "sprue-cutters", small plier-cutters that cost about $10 USD and will last a decade.  NEXT best is a pair of large toe-nail clippers.

Also, buy a few "emery boards"... fingernail sanders.  They are terrific for cleaning up the area you cut, and come in several levels of grit so you can have a NICE smooth area.

The BEST glue to use is liquid plastic cement (Testors is my prefered brand)... it has a brush to apply a VERY light line on the seams.  TUBE glue is really horrible as it has a tendency to ooze out, and since the glue is a plastic solvent, it melts the plastic and you often end up with fingerprints.

IF you are going to PAINT the car, I recommend washing the parts or the semi-completed model with luke-warm water and dishsoap... this removes any silicon molding agent and finger oils which prevent the paint from bonding properly.

ok, the paper is probably used for gluing on, second, u have to cut them out very carefully, i would recommend a hobby knife, they are designed for it. if u want it to look really good, sand the bit that is left after cutting the piece out. u have to be patient, it could take u months just to sand and cut the pieces. next would be care. if u r in a bad mood, or don't feel like working on it, then don't, it will only end in disaster. finally, if u want to paint it, make sure u get model car paint, and again, take ur time. only paint one part at a time. the VERY final thing, is have fun, use this to relax urself. hope this all helps.

If you mean the yellow piece of paper with the decals on, save them for last.

I cut a little more than I have to on some pieces, then carefully cut closer to the object, the idea is to have it look like part of the car without taking a big chunk out of it.

Use real glue not the non-toxic stuff, it just never works right.

Sometimes I will sand the little bit of tree off, it really depends.

Ok this is a biggie here; GLUE AS LITTLE AS YOU HAVE TO.

If you glue to much on your piece it will ooze out between the pieces, and it'll look like c**p.

If this is your first, get another one, more than likely you will mess it up (lol) don't worry about it, everyone needs practice.

You could paint it before putting it together, but the glue won't stick on the paint, it will cause it to not secure well, you'll have to use your best judgment and scrape off where your going to glue it.

The decals go on last, you cut each one, then soak them for a few minutes, one at a time.

As long as you keep them wet you can move them around till it's just right where you want them.

But be careful, they break easily.
