Question:

Cardiovascular problems? Or what?

Ever since I was born i've had heart palpitations (or however you spell it). Well up until recently not only have i had heart palpitations but it seems as if I'm getting the same problems in other areas of my body.

For instance today I had a very sharp pain in my wrist, it could be from writing. (but it seemed to be a little bit lower and more precise pain than what i usually get from writing too much.) Ive had problems in my wrists, my lower thigh area, and sometimes right below my rib cage. I don't know if there is one solution to all three problems, because I'm not sure if they are all from the same cause. The fact that i could be in bad cardiovascular health scares me, because I'm only 17 and my doctor tells me I'm the "perfect" body type (6 feet and 140 pounds).. I'm afraid that i may die of a stroke or heart attack or something.

Does anyone have an idea of why i have these frequent episodes of pain? I think it may be hereditary

  1. Sharp pain in your wrists won't have anything to do with heart palpitations.  Neither will pain in your lower thigh area. Pain near your rib cage could be from heart trouble so you should check into it. If you're concerned about poor circulation then here are some ways to tell if you're okay.  If you look at you fingernail beds on your hands and feet, the half of your nail that is closest to your cuticles should be  that pinky colour with a crescent of white or lighter pinkish. If, instead of being lighter, your nail beds are dark/purple/blue/gray or if you look at your face around your nostrils and mouth, if that skin is dark/blue/purple/gray than that means that you aren't getting enough oxygen in those parts of your body. The reason those three parts of your body go darker first is because your hands and feet are the farthest from your heart and your head is above your heart so it's much more difficult to circulate blood to those areas. If it's heart trouble you may also sometimes feel tired or weak or dizzy  especially after exertion. If you feel these symptoms go back to your doctor and get him to hook you up with a cardiologist.
