Carlos Delgado NL MVP Candidate?

Question

obviously it is not the clear choice but there is no clear lock in the nl....yes we have the usuals with pujols ..berkman ...utley but what about delgado...look at what he has done this year...30 homers and 93 rbi's ....he had a resurgence in july that helped the mets gain 1st and helped them win 10 in a row ...i know people think i am crazy but this is possible people...and as a a met fan i see him evryday...david wright is also a candidate with 25 homers and 100 rbi's but delgado has been coming through in the clutch and that is what counts ...right?...most VALUABLE player to your team...your thoughts?

Only if the Mets go deep into the playoffs (which I do not see it happening).

h**l noooooo, there are people with clearly better stats than him.  If he had an avg around .285-.290 then it is a different story but pujols is batting .357 as the top NL candidate.  Braun is another candidate at .300 and more rbis and hrs. Berkman is at .333. Aramis Ramirez is very clutch too and with better stats.  So no delgado has no shot at MVP.

He definitely deserves some votes. Since he woke up in July the Mets have been on the positive side and keeping themselves on top of the NL east.  David Wright has also helped but the resurgence of Delgado has made it possible for the team to be where they are now. Beltran is not hitting as he should so Delgado has been carrying the team along with Wright.

Im a Met fan, but he has no chance at the NL MVP.

He's swinging a hot bat.  If he can keep it up the rest of the season, and the Mets obviously have to make the playoffs, then I say "Why not"
