i just bought a new camcorder from samsung and the salesperson told me that it was able to be connected into the computer to save the videos so that they could be uploaded to a site. when i looked at the camcorder theres only one extra hole that says dv but i dont think thats for the computer. i didnt bring a usb cord only the plug ins for the tv.

can i purchase a usb cord to be able to transfer my videos to my computer?

or

can i record on cassette and somehow transfer it to a cd?

how do i do that. going to a photo devleper place?

i really need the videos to be saved on to my computer.

thanks to anyone who answers will be alot of help.

  1. That "extra hole" sounds like a firewire port - it's for connecting the camcorder to the PC.  If your PC hasn't already got one you'll need to install a firewire card. They're cheap, easy to install and readily available. You'll also need a firewire cable.

Once everything's connected you can capture and edit the video with Windows Movie Maker (it should already be on your PC).
