  1. if they dont want the job go somewhere else theyre isnt many jobs now a adays so they better suck itup

  2. idk I'm soooooo sorr

  3. For starters, tighten up on the rules.  No more drinks by the registers. No more MP3 players.  Basically, you have let so much slide they don't think you will enforce the rest of the rules.  Have a meeting and tell them things are going to change.  You will no longer tolerate these behaviors.  They will be written up according to company policy.

I know this sounds bad- but you may need to make an example out of someone.  If they continue to not do what they need to do, you're going to have to fire someone.  Be prepared for it, and have a qualified person ready to hire immediately to replace them.  Start hiring candidates now, to make people aware you may need to replace some slacking staff.

As far as the 16 year old doing what he is supposed to- DUH!  He is in high school and is grateful for the job.  His parents are still helping him in life.  The 18-21 year olds are still working at a crappy job since they haven't done anything to make their lives better.  Your chances of finding hard working 18 year olds for that type of job are not good.  Anyone with any ambition is either in college, or moving into a more profesional position somewhere.

  4. You send them to the manager like you were asked to do.  They have to learn that behavior has consequences.  They don't want to be there?  Fine.  There are plenty of people needing a job that will come in with a better attitude.

  5. Do What Ever you think is the best thing to do!

  6. Sounds to me like you're spoiling them so much and they are becoming very lazy and irrisponsible. You should set some rules and don't make exceptions to your own rules. They need to follow all the rules otherwise they will just take advantage of it even more and make excuses. Good luck!

  7. if you are above them, ie:manager/manageress.you need to be ASSERTIVE!!!. don't let this bullshit continue, i know how you feel, perhaps you feel like it's your place not to tell people what to do, maybe you're shy. but at the end of the day it's just a job. pluck up the courage and let 'em know who's boss! go for it!

  8. The only thing you can do is talk with the people that are giving you problems and give them a warning.  If that doesn't work cut their hours and/or write them up.  They will either take notice and do their job better or you will have to fire them.  That's your job as manager.  Plus, if they don't want to work those hours, they need to change their availability so they're not scheduled to close.  There are too many people in this country right now who are out of work and would be willing to actually do a job well to have to put up with people who aren’t willing to do their job right.

  9. Hire people that actually want to work and quit letting them get away with everything!  If you don't enforce the rules, then people aren't going to take you seriously and they will walk all over you.  If you don't enforce the other rules, why should they follow any of them at all?  You don't have to be rude about it, just let them know that they will be reported if they don't follow the rules.  Simple as that.

  10. You pretty much answered your own question. Send them to the manager to face Cut hrs, or suspension. There are many people out there who really need a job, and will take their job seriously.

  11. if you are the one in charge, put your foot down! because all their foolishness comes back to you first! don't let them walk all over you, you are their boss first THEN their friend.
