Cat breeders in the UK

Question

Im looking to give a hairless sphynx kitten a loving new home.

I was wondering if there are are breeders in the UK?

I'd welcome any hairless kitten, even the 'runt' of any litter!

Unfortunatly I am unable to travel at the moment, but Im looking for serious contacts!

Also welcoming any advice from owners of these lovely cats!

Breeders will insist on an indoor home and kittens can cost around £900.

I'd recommend you get hold of Cat World or Your Cat magazines from somewhere like WH Smith.  You'll find Sphynx in the listings or in the breeder ads (maybe not in every month as they are quite rare and there aren't alwys kittens available).

Sphynx are a rare breed in the UK and are likely to be expensive.  Also, they aren't hypoallergenic as many people believe.

A very good way to meet breeders is to attend a cat show. (LIst here: http://www.gccfcats.org/showsnew.html ).

It's easy enough to figure out who the breeders are and what pens their cats are in from the catalogue available at each of these.  Talk to them, get to know them.  A few will be precious about where their cats go, but if you want a pet animal, most will be accommodating.  Sometimes it's hard to sell kittens which aren't good show prospects.

Since few people travel far to show their cats (we limit ourselves to <1hr), you will find someone local if you attend a show near where you live.
