Question:

Cat suddenly became very hostile?

I have two cats, a boy and a girl, whom I've had since they were born. They're part of the same litter and they're spayed and neutered. One night the female cat suddenly became very hostile towards her brother and hisses, growls, and makes other angry noises when he comes near. I noticed she had a cut on a rear paw, so I think the brother might have accidentally hurt her when they were playing. Is there any way I can get them to get along again? I've tried a lot of stuff and it hasn't worked so far.

  1. If your cat is injured she will protect herself a bit more from you or other animals, even her brother. If the cut is bad I would take her to the vet. Perhaps try keeping the other cat away while she heals.

  2. sounds normal.  we have 8 kittie 6 of which are litter mates and they are like that sometimes too.  her brother probably doesn't realize that she is hurt and wants to play and she obviously doesn't.  i would nt worry about it to much she will eventually like him again. with the injury though it must be bad enough that it is really hurting.  i recommend putting a thin layer of aquaphore(it is like vaseline) to keep it protected and make sure that it is not getting infected.  if it isn't getting any better in 48 hours take her to a vet and get it treated. hope that helps.

  3. that could have happen, or she is probably hurting and does not want to be bothered, give her some time, also i'm guessin there not too old
