Catching minnows or shiners?

besides using a net or trap what is the best bait for catching this type of bait

stick with using a net.  If there are a buch in one area just use the net and try to scoop up as many as possible.

you can catch them things with anything that catches there eye. use something shiny such as a castmaster, it may seem ridiculous, but it works. also powerbait works well.
