Cavaliers are prone to skin rashes, this i know. But, where is the most common places for them to get them and what type of rashes are they?

My cav has got a red rash under her arms, itches a lot, slighty swollen. Took her to the vet and she prescribed ointment but didnt tell me exactly what it was!

  1. what about tee tree oil or bio oil.I never had skin problems with my cav,s just heart problems in very later years.Do you think it could be,sometimes a dogs blood over heats and causes rashes, this could be the food is to rich?

  2. Cavaliers aren't prone to skin issues.

I own cavaliers and have worked in cavalier rescue (poorly bred dogs) for many years and haven't found skin issues at all.

Here is a list of cavalier health issues:

  3. Is probably a allergic reaction to something in his food, such as corn, or could be from grass or a flea bite. Try switching him to a good source of dog food that has no corn.

  4. Cavaliers are not prone to skin rashes i own 2 of them and never had any problems with mine at all i suggest you take yours back to the vet and get them to explain what it is your dog has actually got
