Question:

Celebration Ideas--Due Date coming up?

Back in September, I became pregnant. I was due June 18, 2008. I miscarried at 6w2d on October 25, 2007. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to celebrate his "birth", seeing as how June 18th would have been his due date.

I was considering baking cupcakes, putting a candle in one and singing Happy Birthday. Does that sound odd?

Anyone have any other suggestions?

  1. It doesn't sound odd. Do what you feel comfortable with.

I had a still born on the 20th of June. I always celebrate her birthday. I don't bake or sing but my family talks about her all day long and says happy birthday to her. I have her ashes and a little part dedicated in the house just for her.

She is one of my children too!

  2. I think maybe to alot of people that would sound odd..but since Ive just recently had a miscarriage, it actually sounds like a good idea...(i must be odd too)...umm i miscarried May 19th..at 8 weeks and 2 days..was due january..but i think i'll do something to remember the baby id lost on the day i lost her..(May 19th)..I mean, i had already made out baby was a girl and that her name was elyse and that she was gonna look exactly like her dad with her mommas hair..(a curly afro)I even got scans 2 days before i lost her with her heart beating(in other words i was doing everything my mom told me not to do in the first trimester..)so of course i was quite sad when i miscarried and it is something that i'll never forget...Im just going to say a lil prayer for her as to me she was a lil angel that heavenly father took back...also I have learnt a great deal of lessons for this experience that ive gotta be greatful for them..if i hadnt gone through this..I wouldve never known..

Its really up to you...what youve proposed to do sounds sufficient enough....throwing a huge party would be odd..

but yeah..its really up to you..
