O.K. I have a contract for 2 years with verizon. I now have 1&half years with this contract but I don't want my phone anymore and I want to get the lg voyager and I know about the cancel fees. So my two questions is if I get the lg voyager and then cancel my old contract and start a new contract with verizon will I be able to keep my number? and if not what is a good way of canceling a contract. Do I call them and cancel the old contract first or do I get the new phone and new contract and then cancel?

Thank You

  1. Your talking about doing this will all the same cell company.  This is a confusing situation.  You would prob have to pay a 200 dollar cancellation fee then the price of the phone.  I think its best to buy the phone you want on the internet for a cheap price and then transfer your number to that phone.

  2. Get the new phone first, and then port your number and that will automatically cancel the old contract.  Porting your number means your old number will go to your new cell phone.  You will pay the early termination fee which you already knew.  One good thing about verizon is each month they put $10 towards you canceling your account.  So if you cancel, it shouldn't cost you much.
