Cervical postion question...?

Possibly TMI and too long as well... consider yourself warned.

Ok. So I've been charting and am getting to know my CM better but for some reason I get really queasy when it comes to CP. Today is the first day I attempted to understand this, I'm just coming off of AF so I'm guessing it's hard and low... i don't even know what i'm touching really so I'm not even sure how low it is at this point, how far in I have to go, if it's closer to the front or back or what. i keep reading it feels like your nose or something but do they mean in firmness or size-wise. I feel like a complete dodo asking this question cuz it seems like I should know exactly where my cervix is, or how it is, or what it is... but I don't get it and I haven't seen a picture that makes 100% sense to me... and i'm really not even sure why i get queasy even thinking about it... I'm completely comfortable with touching myself down there.. but just thinking of giving myself some kind of exam makes me nauseous.... i know i'll have to keep checking at different times to notice the difference and fully understand it but I want to understand NOW if what i touched was my cervix, or a bone, or an alien or what... it's reeeeally embarrassing admitting i don't understand this part of me. =/

anybody with patience and time.. i'll appreciate you answer whatever my question is. LOL

THANK YOU!

  1. Ok when ppl compare it to the tip of your nose it's in firmness not size. Your cervix is in different positions all the time. To know if you are touching it or not... If you are just after AF then it should be pretty easy to tell. Your vaginal wall is sort of tough with what are called rugae, anything above that (not including your cervix at this point) should feel really soft and fleshy. If you are constipated or have any BM in your colon you can feel this to the back, this obviously would not be your cervix. Your cervix will feel firm and you can rub your finger around the entire tip of it. It can be irritated easily, but you can move it around a little if you try. you should feel somewhat of a dent in the tip of it which will be where you feel if it is open or closed. Sometimes when it is high it's almost flat to the outer uterine wall, but since you just came off AF it should be down toward the ending of vaginal canal.
