Question:

Chances of getting caught?

I cheated on a chemistry test out of desperation today. i asked a friend for 4 of the answers out of 35. it was a multiple choice test on a scantron sheet. is my risk of getting caught high? i'm pretty sure he didn't get all four wrong. and the rest i did on my own. would those four raise suspicion?

i know what i did was wrong and was the only time i ever cheated.

  1. You won't get caught, but...

You have to live with yourself - and obviously from your question that is not so easy right now.

You will remember this cheating episode your entire life.

If you had missed all four of those questions, you probably would have forgotten all about it in a month or so...

  2. First you would not be asking these kind of questions if it did not bother you.

Honesty is always the best policy, and you should come clean on your own.

This is not about a grade, but your integrity.

Good grades you need to  succeed in academics, integrity you need to succeed in life.

Take the F for cheating, and take the A in honesty.

Once you cross that line; you know yourself it may not be the last time you get tempted.

    Next time be better prepared.

  3. you probably won't get caught,

but you shouldn't cheat on tests in high school.

no single test in high school is important enough to significantly change your life,

    even if you fail miserably.

but, if you cheat and get caught, you could fail the class, be watched all the time,

    or categorized as a cheater.

and those four questions probably don't matter enough

    to even help you significantly.

that would be awful if you got caught because you aren't even getting anything out of it.

    be careful.

  4. The question is not, "Will I get caught?"  The question you should be asking is, "What do I do now that my conscience has already 'caught' me?"

4 out of 35.  That doesn't seem to me to be worth it.  Had you just done your best those 4 wouldn't have made that big of a difference.

So anyway, I hope you are really proud of yourself.

  5. too late to think about this now don't ya think,

we'll just have to wait and see ,

    Good luck

    and stop cheating

    Meg

  6. i don't know about getting caught but you've taken your 1st step on the path to becoming a used car salesman or a politician.

    good luck!

  7. No i don't think you will get caught this time as it's only 4, i cheated once at primary school in a spelling test, i had the answers on my lap and pretended to have a head ache so i had an excuse to look down, supposedly in pain, then flushed the evidence down the toilet. After i did this i felt really bad and that i had failed so i didn't do it again. The point is that you sound really worried about getting caught, if so, you shouldn't do it again and learn from this. You have probably heard this before but you are only cheating yourself which is true. Sorry i think i was a bit preachy. But really i doubt you will get caught. Good Luck

  8. I happen to be your chemistry teacher...

    YOU are SO busted!!!

  9. I'm going to answer this as a mom so get ready folks to hit it with your thumbs down fingers!

If your conscience is telling you that what you did is wrong, then you really know what you need to do.  If you want to be honest with yourself.......tell the prof the truth and ask to retake the test if possible.  Be prepared to get a failing score on the whole test, however, if they do not see fit to retest you.

Ethics are ethics and in spite of what people tell you, they are not situational.

  10. if its scantron then the teacher will probably not know what-so-ever that you cheated
