Changed mower engines&need help?

i asked a question last week about changing engines.thanks for the answers but i need more help.the problem now is wiring.there different.i took a briggs 12.5 off a murray 40 cut mower.model number40708x92a.i put it on a yard machines(mtd)model numer 13am672g088(tmo-3103203)(1997)14.5 briggs.well hooked up what was the same.to no surprize nothing happened.the only thing was the amp gauge moved a pinch.any help with this would be great.thanks

Not sure what all you did but the starting circuit is all in the tractor and has nothing to do with the engine.  You should be able to hook the cable to the starter and crank the engine.  The only other things are the lighting and charging wires.  The red wire coming from under the flywheel is the charging and the other, black, I think is for lights. You might have a wire that goes to a fuel cutoff valve on the bottom of the carburetor.  I could send you the wiring diagram from my sears tractor, don't know how much that would help but if you want it just e-mail me and I will scan it and send it to you.
