Changing monitors

I have a Samstron 76E 17ins CRT and decided to change it to a LCD monitor. However I did not get a wire with the LCD monitor and I don't know how to take the wire out of the old (samtron 76e) monitor. Does the wire not come out of the monitor or do I have to screww the back off? Please help Thank you Bal
