Changing the date

Question

the date is the 7th of december and my watch says it is the 9th i need to change it but i can not go backwards only forwards. I would have to go all the way up through the numbers till it gos back to 1..2..3...4......7 I feel like this is bad for the watch as i have already done this once before is there a way to go backwards? or is my watch broken? because it wont go back.
