  1. Your boyfriend will be in jail at least until his bond is paid. The jurisdiction he is jailed in may hold him for several hours even after his bond is paid.

My husband was jailed at 2 a.m., after leaving a local bar,  on a charge of public drunkenness. I was told if I paid his bond, he would be released within two hours. I paid the bond, waited at the jail until 8 a.m., went home, and he was finally released at 12 noon.

  2. Depends on the original offense... 3 to 6 months or a year or more

  3. If jail time was possible for the initial charge, he wouldn't be held longer than the maximum time.  At this point, he would stay in jail until bond was posted (10%),  or appeared before the Judge.  A signature bond may also be possible.

  4. A PR bond on 1000$ is only 100$ and I am sure that he doesn't have a no bail warrant.Check it out.

His original charge for the missed court date will determine what his sentence is and if he has not been sentenced yet he will not know how long.
