I will be going to Jamaica and bringing my digital camera. How do I charge the battery when it dies? Do I need an adapter, or can I just plug it in like I normally would?

  1. You need to buy a adapter/charger at local to charge your camera battery in foreign countries. Because the plugs are different in different countries.

Take the three-pin plug for instance, it is different in UK, US and China.

For camera batteries and battery charger, you can visit

  2. Look on your battery charger ... it will say something like 100~240v 50~60 Hz.  This means that it will charge your battery anywhere in the world.  All you need is a plug adapter to connect it to the mains.  I was throughout the Caribbean last summer and all the islands I visited used 110v @ 60 Hz, since all their consumer electronics are imported from the US for the most part.  There may be some pockets where 240v @ 50 Hz is used, but I did not see that in any of the 16 islands I visited.
