  1. I think you are getting compassion fatigue.

remember the Tsunami?  everyone was very generous then, but the recent chinese earthquake and burma cyclone?  everyone was "oh no not again!"

Jesus said "the poor you will always have amongst you" - that did not mean just forget about them, but we cant help everyone!  Just do your bit, and hope everyone else does theirs.  Choose your own personal charity and support that regularly by direct giving with gift aid so they can claim tax back, and that way you dont have to feel guilty when someone rattles a tin in your face!  People are always phoning and sending begging letters but you cant do it all!

And your comment about celebrities - many of them do give, but dont shout about it, after all it should be a private matter dont you think?

  2. helping your fellow man is never wrong!

  3. I saw your answer on my question and just had to come check you out. I agree 100000% I too do all I can to help others. And because of that I actually became homeless myself for about 7 months. Not very long compared to some people but still, it was tough. Especially because of how it happened. I helped a so-called friend by loaning money to pay some bills and when they saw how much I had came back and stole everything.

The area I live in now doesn't have many homeless but everytime I go into a big city I can't help but going to buy a couple back packs and stuffing them with items to give to some homeless people that I see, who would actually use them and not sell for drugs. And then I also make lots of bagged lunches with sandwiches and such to give to others. It's not much but they sure appreciate it. And it comes back to you. (but thats not why i do it)

Its so funny, that they only person who ever gave me anything was a homeless man. When I was sleeping in my car one night a guy came up and knocked on the window and asked for a dollar. All I had was a 5$ bill but i gave it to him and made him promise to do something good with it. The next day i didnt see him but the morning after that I woke up to find $200 laying on my lap with a note. He must have stuck it through the crack of the window. The note said "i know u made me promise to do something good with that $5 but i had a real good feeling about that scratch off ticket i bought. i won $250. i'll keep the $50, you keep the $200. "

and thats how i bought my gas to drive back home.

  4. I find ridiculous, that most of the Charities are focused on 3rd World countries, while we are  having so many empowered people in U.S.A. ! So many celebrities adopting elsewhere but here ! I do too, donate my share per year to the St. Jude Children's Hospital for Research and honestly, if a "beggar" asks me for money I simply answer:"No money, you want, I'll get you something to eat!" We are having serious problems here in America, I think the whole Justice System, is out of control ! Police, using violence when it isn't needed, and so on ! Unjustified "lawsuits" and I could go on and on ! You are a wonderful human being and I would certainly say, you "have grace and empathy" for others ! We all, could learn a lot if we only would start "feel empathy and compassion" !

  5. It's sad that America has so much money, but yet we are to take care of people of other countries before we take care of our own. I say cut everyone else off then take of us first. So many homeless kids and families, but yet we are worried about ther kids and families in third world countries

  6. Good for you ! I occasionally donate money to, mainly, to Children's Organizations of any kind ! Having two children myself, it is very important for me to take my kids and show them, what "being grateful" is all about. I don't tip beggars though. Most of them, are healthy enough to get a job !
