Question:

Charity work/parents?

Ok, well, I'm not the kind of kid who sits around all day doing something useless or not even doing anything! I keep begging my parents if I can do charity work, but my mom says that I have to help myself first (right now, I'm in my maturing age/mid-late teens, still live with parents) and get finished with all of my necessary education. I need some sort of way to convince my parents to do something. I you guys think that maybe charity work isn't the best for someone my age, what else should I do with my life?

Thank you to the readers and answerers of this question!

  1. Hi Elfie, its really nice that you want to do some charity work.

I am sure your parents are very proud of you.

As long as  you are on top of your studies and school work, there should be no reason why your parents should stop you doing any kind of work in your spare time. And I dont think they will have any objection if you begin with something like visiting people in hospital who dont have visitors, or visiting the children in the hospital and reading with them or playing with them. Anything like that would be very worth while, and, like I said, as long as you keep up with your studies, I can't see why they would object.

    Good luck to you.

    :)
