I live in england - im 26 yrs old. My holidays so far in life have mainly been beach with families - only once have i broken the mould and thats when i went to euro disney. I really want to see different parts of the world but heres the catch

:

1) I have a full time job so any travelling would have to be done when i book time off

2) Im short on money so flights/accomodation would have to be quite cheap

3) im sick of the stereotypical beach holiday

4) i want to experience europe and places that have good night life and a vibrant scene

- I love the england dont get me wrong but want to see places further afield - even within the uk is fine - ANY help is much appreciated

  1. While the US dollar is so c**p I would look at heading across the pond.  The possibilities are endless and the US is relatively safe compared to other places.

  2. Croatia and Slovenia are less expensive than western Europe, and you can get there via EasyJet or RyanAir.

Check out Dubrovnik, Croatia and Bled, Slovenia (both have websites).

Prague and Budapest are also less expensive than cities in western Europe but have the "good night life and a vibrant scene" you mention in your question.

  3. How about Gozo, it's part of Malta but more laid back then the main island. You will have to fly via Valetta and catch the ferry but that easy.

Great climate, the beach if you want it buts lots more. friendly people. They drive on the left if you need to rent a car, and almost crime free.

    Tough to beat.

  4. keep an eye on the budget airlines like Easyjet, Ryanair etc ... sometimes they have really cheap sales and so forth ... also if you check their websites you can often get really cheap flights if you book well in advance, but the only problem is that often these cheap deals cannot be cancelled or amended ... obviously the destination needs to be affordable, places such as Bulgaria, Prague, Malta tend to be reasonably affordable, also some areas of Spain

for affordable accommodation often the cheapest is hostels ... if you put "hostel (destination)" into Google you'll pull up quite a number of sites ... do you have someone to go with? could you share?

the other option is late deals, especially early and late in the season you can get some fantastic offers ... my son was telling me last week that he found a late deal to Turkey for flight, accommodation, food and drink at a resort hotel in Turkey all for £180 based on two sharing a room
