Cheap Travel to Cancun?

I have been wanting to go to cancun with my hubby for the past year and I want to know when the best time of there year is to go and the cheapest. Also any good suggestions on where to stay and what to do?

  1. There are several High & Low seasons in Cancun, usually governed by when the School holidays are. High seasons, are Spring Break & Easter (March & April, depending on the dates of Easter). June through to Mid August for Summer Break, and then Xmas & New Year (Dec 20th - 3rd Jan). Outside of these dates, it's pretty cheap, depending on the type of Accommodation you wish to stay in.

    From June to November is Hurricane season here in the Caribbean, just another little issue to watch for.

    There is a minimum temperature of around 20C here in Cancun, and even in the winter months it's still possible to spend time sunning yourself on the beach, and so the best time, would be a time of year that suits your own preference for heat, with July & August being the warmest months.

    Things to do....

    The list is endless really, there are ecoparks, like Xcaret & Xel-ha, Mayan Ruins like Chichen Itza, Swim with Dolphins programs, sailing, fishing, scuba diving, jungle tours, water parks, kayaking, horse riding, quad bikes, Party hopper tours, if you like to get out and enjoy the night life.

    There are also many fantastic restaurants & Sports bars where you can eat out.

    No matter when you visit, you'll be sure to have a great time.

  2. The best time to go is May or June. Hurricane season is the cheapest time to go. June 1st-Nov 30th. If you purchase travel insurance I also like the month of October.
