  1. Hi,

It works out cheaper to book your flights as soon as you can and you can loads of cheap flights can be found using search engines such as Kayak. I travelled to Oz in Jan with Qantas and i booked it directly through their site, although i made the mistake of booking 2 weeks before.( I had been watching the prices of flights for a few months they kept going down so I hung on and then they went right up!!) I don't think that any month is particularly cheaper than any other. We stayed in Sydney for 3 nights in an area called Potts Point which was ok, but you don't get alot for your money.A good website to use to find cheaper accommodation is . . . www.standbyrooms.au Like all major cities around the world, Sydney has it's nicer places and one place I would not stop is Kings Cross as it is full of Brothels, s*x shops and smack heads( unless that's your cup of tea!!) A really nice place to visit or stay is Manly or Narrabean at the Northern Beaches. These places are lovely and you can carry on down the coast and visit the "Home and Away" outdoors location. When we visited we drove through them filming LOL. Hope this has helped. Enjoy your trip and remember to stay safe x

  2. Sydney is a bit like London and not in fact cheap. better maybe to locate a bit outside and travel in on train? ideally  you need a resident in Oz to assit with this one.

cost me lots  to stay in a 4 star hotel near the harbour but if you can afford to do the bridge walk ,do do it.

blue mountains are good for a trip to. your best bet if you cant get any info here or an Oz to give you info is a friendly travel agent.

eg Upminster travel have an excellent reputation  but any good agent will be able to at least offer advice  and prices including fares.

be pre[ared for fuel surcharges. If you are young and fit what about back packing ? or youth hostels?

do enjoy but a week really isn't long enough to see anything much.

  3. I think October would be a good time to go and would suggest staying in a hostel, which would be quite cheap.  Enjoy your stay, Sydney is a wonderful City.

  4. Book as soon as possible, there are really cheap flights with flight centre as they are an Australian company and they guarantee the best price on all their Oz flights! They start from £600, Oct is cheapest. you also get additional discount if you are a student or under 26. I would suggest giving them a call 0870 499 0040, they even arrange the visa for you for £10. I stayed in Kings Cross when i was there, it was fine as there are lots of backpackers, there is a good, clean, cheap hostel there called the jolly swagman.

My final advice would be to go for as long as you can, i was jet lagged for 2 weeks after i arrived so 1 week isn't really long enough.
