  1. If you book now on the 17.06 hrs  departure   £21.50

      otherwise your£63 kicks in

  2. The National Rail website http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/ shows an advance purchase single fare Poole - Birmingham New Street at £21.50. If you want to come back on the Sunday, then it could get expensive. Birmingham - Poole fares all seem to be £61. On a weekday, however, there is an advance puchase single Birmingham - Poole at £16.50 if you choose the right train.

    Edit:

The through tickets at £21.50 seem to have disappeared for trains leaving Poole before 1706. However, there is still a £16 advance fare from Bournemouth, available on the 1445 and 1545 departures. The single from Poole to Bournemouth is £2.90, so you can do it for £18.90 by getting two tickets (pay on the day for the Poole - Bournemouth ticket).
