I am going to be flying on Us Airways next week and what with all the changes going on, I'm checking just one suit case and was planning on carrying on a smaller one and then use a backpack for my personal item. I need the backpack to carry my medicine in. My question is will they make me check the small suit case or not?

  1. You are allowed one carry on bag -total dimensions

    [ length x width x height ] of 52inches total;

    AND one personal bag - purse, backpack, diaper bag, briefcase.

    They have started charging for checked in luggage - $15 for first bag, and fee goes up after that.

    Do not check anything that you can't easily replace - medications, electronics, jewelry, etc.

  2. You can carry one carry on bag, and one personal item, such as a purse or a backpack... So you should be fine... Enjoy your trip!!

  3. As long as you follow the guidelines for carryon luggage, you will be fine. I got this off their website BUT call the airline about weight of carry on luggage. They keep changing the rules.

    Carry-on baggage

    You are allowed one carry-on bag and one personal item. Personal items include a purse, briefcase, laptop or diaper bag. Carry-on baggage must be stowed in carry-on compartments of the aircraft, under a seat, or in an overhead compartment.

    Size requirements

    • Up to 51 in/129 cm (11 x 14 x 26 in or 28 x 35 x 66 cm)

    Good luck and safe traveling)
