Checking Baggage while taveling?

Question

My wife is leading a travel group in a few weeks, but she can't figure out one thing. She will be taking a Delta Flight from Birmingham to Atlanta, and then transferring to an Air Korea flight to go to Seoul. She was wondering if she was going to have to recheck he bags in Atlanta since she was changing carriers. Both are a part of the "Sky Team." It is also an international fight. In general, she is confused and could use some help.

Generally not on outbound flights.  

On inbound flights, luggage must be claimed at a port of entry airport in order to go through customs.  Then it's rechecked for domestic flights.

Shouldnt have to, but  i would call yuor local airliner...
