please tell me if you have any idea of how this should be done!!!

Millikan determined the charge on the electron by styding the static charges on oil drops falling in an electric field. A studing carried out this experiment using several oil drops for her measurments and calculated the charge on the drops She obtained the following data;

Droplet Caclulated Charge (C)

A 1.60 x 10^-19

B 3.15 x 10^-19

C 4.81 x 10^-19

D 6.31 x 10^-19

(a) what is the significance of the fact that the droplets carried different charges?

(b) what conclusion can the student draw from these data regarding the charof of the electron?

  1. a) You can have more than one charge on an oil drop and charge is quantized

    b) The electron must have a charge less than 1.6 x10^-19  CCan also use the data to say that the charge is approx 1.6x10^-19 C
