Is it possible to reverse the reaction of oxygen and iron combining to get rust. How can you split them back apart?

  1. Another way is to use electrochemical methods to reduce the oxised Iron back to its pure form.

    Alternatively you can use a blast furnace with carbon monoxide to form iron and carbon dioxide, this process is use today to process iron from Iron oxide.


  2. You can remove the rust from the ferrous materials with Aluminum Foil dipped in water if you sit and rub the iron for a while.
