Chess values?

what are the values of the chess peices??

pawns=1

bishops and knights=3

rooks=5

queen=9

Technically the king has "no" value because the king technically never gets "captured" check mated yes but actually never taken off the board.

The guy who asked before me is right. However, I like to consider the the king as with infinite value.

The first answer had it correct for the most part.

Pawns are one, Bishops and Knights three, Rooks five, the queen nine, and the king simply has infinite value because you cannot lose it without losing the game.

I would like to note though that Bishops are considered to be slightly, slightly better than knights (especially in open games) because of their greater ability to span distances. To lose a bishop for a knight is called "losing the minor exchange" (Much like losing a rook for a knight or bishop is losing the exchange) and of course for the opposite, losing a knight for a bishop, you would win a minor exchange.
