Child labor laws question?

I want to work at this small music store but he says he cant afford to hire employees.. Is it legal to work there on weekends for like.. 5 bucks a day or something like that?

I will have a work permit and I live in CA

  1. .   YOu can do this.  It is smart of you to think of this.  You will get experience and he will get a cheap worker.


  2. i have no idea what yor age is... if you under the age 15 well firstly no because your generation dose not know music rap is c**p. if some one comes in and goes i want sometihng like guns n roses you will be like WTF..2nd he decides what to chose what are you gonna do sue him>? and no he cant underpay you thats ripping you off. you cant ripp off people even if they know it..cause he gotta put in books and way to much hassle OHS rules so on..

  3. Yes, that would be illegal.  There's a minimum hourly wage set by California state law (right now it's $8).  The store owner could apply for a certificate that allows him to pay a reduced wage to full-time students, but in California that's still $7.15 an hour.
