Childcare assistant interview.?

Question

I have one at 4:30

and im the definition of a nervous wreck.

what should i expect?

and how can i answer the interview questions?

You will be perfectly fine. It's nothing to worry about. I'm going on 19 and I have been working at a daycare called The Children's Workshop for 3 years, and I have been a teacher assistant for almost a year in the infant room. They will ask you questions like how well you work with kids, why do you want to work in this field, how could I influence the children, and when I went, they gave me a tour of the daycare, and put me in each room to spend time with the children to see how I would interact with them. You will probably be asked questions like How are you with children? How would you do in specific scenarios such as if a child was upset on their first day? Or,if children(hopefully not but it happens)get into a little spat. Also all you can do is be yourself and answer truthfully. You don't want to start off with a lie because it could end the same way. When I had my interview I was asked why I wanted to work with children. How I thought I could influence the learning environment of children. What I expect to get from and give to the job. What I think about schools at the moment- do as much background reading as you can about schooling in the media. About failing in core subjects, league tables ect- and be prepared to discuss these issues and think about your views on the issues. Most school based job interviews I've gone for are more of a discussion on what you think about working within in a school, why you want to do it and how you do it. If you are passionate about children and helping them learn then you'll be fine, relax and your true colours will shine through. Good luck, hope you get the job!

Give a firm handshake and wear something appropriate - no skin showing for heaven's sake!  Just be yourself and sell as well as you can. Your interview is probably over by now so I hope you did well!

Be yourself, even if you are nervous....I always admit that right off the bat it puts you at ease and the interviewer will often reassure you. You may be asked how you would handle certain situations, you will be asked your educational background and your teaching philosophy. GOOD LUCK!
